Open Board Member Position

The Holt County Animal Shelter is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to fill a newly established volunteer (non-paid) Board position as Fundraising Coordinator.

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our mission by helping lead fundraising initiatives, cultivating donor relationships, and ensuring the successful planning and execution of fundraising events aligned with our organizational goals.

The Fundraising Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Board and Shelter Manager to create fundraising events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events

  • Building and maintaining relationships with potential donors and sponsors

  • Developing and supporting marketing campaigns for fundraising activities

  • Increasing awareness of the shelter and its mission within the community

  • Researching potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities

  • Maintain an active and engaging social media presence

 

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Holt County and the surrounding area

  • Passion for animals and their wellbeing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Comfort with technology and social media platforms

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Creative and strategic thinking abilities

  • Networking skills and access to community connections

  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills

 

Preferred (but not required):

  • Knowledge of nonprofit organizations and donation regulations

  • Grant writing experience

The Mission of the Holt County Animal Shelter is to foster a healthy companionship between Humans and animals, to help enhance appreciation of animals, prevent their abuse, and underscore their intrinsic value.

The Holt County Animal Shelter is a private, non-profit organization. We are funded entirely by private donations from our community.

Mission Statement

In 2006 a group of concerned citizens came together to form Holt County Humane Society The mission then, and now is the same.

We are here to foster healthy companionship  between animals and humans. Through education and example we promote the appreciation of animals, and prevent the abuse and neglect.
